Decorative Arts of South Indian Temples

Dr. Adinarayana is a wanderer. He makes journeys into new areas, villages, towns, tradition and temples. His peregrinations helped him in observing and absorbing new ideas. His visits to the temples of North-coastal Andhra which represent the Kalinga style of art and architecture enriched his understanding on local art forms. A close look at this work reveals his zeal in studying not the form architecture, a beaten track, but the intricaly carved out decorative designs found on the various architecture members of the temples. These are not simple designs. They represent the expressions of the inner urge of the silpins of the period, involved in creating them.
