Book Description
Margaret Munro was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1935. She received her education in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She graduated in 1956, qualified as a Teacher of Secondary School Children. Her first teaching appointment was at Pendower Technical High School in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Throughout her upbringing she attended Robert Stewart Memorial Presbyterian Church. There she was privileged to sit under the ministry of Rev. James Nelson, and many of the renowned missionaries of the day, from all around the world. In 1956, she became a committed Christian.
After teaching for four years she undertook a two year course in Biblical Studies at the Bible Training Institute in Glasgow. In 1962, she was accepted as a member Red Sea Mission Team, an International and Inter-denominational Protestant Mission, with a focus on reaching Muslims with the Christian Gospel. Her field of service was with the Afar people of East Africa, resident in coastal regions of Eritrea, Ethiopia and Djibouti. She was resident in Eritrea until civil war resulted in all British expatriates being evacuated. Further ministry, until the present, has been carried out from the UK, and periodic visits to the Field.
