Book Description

Foreword

It is my privilege to introduce the reader to Dr. Mehzbeen Sadriwala and Dr. RukhsanaSaifee's book: Don't Give Up: Leaders Do not Chase Comfort. My association with both the writers began in 2018 when we met and interacted during two-days RASE Annual Conference at Ratan Garh (Rajasthan). During my interaction with them, I noticed an extraordinary spark in them as they were passionately involved each moment in every aspect of the conference. They put their best efforts to make it a serious academic event. Generally seminars and conferences lack seriousness as these are organized ritually by a coterie who will stubbornly not let in serious scholars in their circle. Currently the writers are teaching English language and the literatures in English in higher education institutions and they have painstakingly carved out a niche for themselves in the field of English studies.

The book is written during the crucial time of Covid 19 crisis that has begotten the spirit of skepticism. Everything Man created and felt proud of now appears small and insignificant in the face of the global crisis that has caused and is causing unquantifiable loss of lives and livelihood. The crisis is not over but the book like Don't Give Up can help the hapless humanity to boldly face the challenges of life and creatively negotiate the crisis that life routinely holds out to man. The book is replete with time-tested one liner truths which can instill confidence and boost the morale of the people who find themselves on the edge of a precipice. Thomas Edison's highly optimistic expression like: I have not failed.
