Preface

Mythology being an immensely comprehensive and abstruse topic in general, and Indian mythology in practical, it's never an easy task putting together a book that seek to outline heroic sags and religious legends of the vast Indian subcontinent. Despite historic allusions in common usage, the term 'myth' does not necessarily imply that an anecdote or a narrative is a figment of imagination. All religions and mythological reservoirs contain legends believed to be the gospel truth by some, and as allegorical, philosophical or merely imaginative insights by others. By not taking a stand on this issue, the book refrains from engaging itself in a scholarly tussle, and merely brings to light a mythological gold mine under a single roof.
