Jay Bhikhkhu- Makers of Indian Literature

Jaybhikhkhu (1908-69) was a celebrated litterateur with over three hundred books to his credit, covering all the genres of Gujarati literature. This monograph contains the journey of his life along with the precise description of his literary works. Jaybhikhkhu believed in the basic values of life and lived upto his ideals. He had pledged to earn his livelihood by writing only and not to take paternal property. He was a life-oriented writer and endeavored to show right path to the society through his novels. It would be interesting and inspiring for readers to know about the vicissitudes of Jaybhikhkhu's life.

Sandhya Bhatt is an Associate Professor in English at P.R.B. Arts and P.G.R. Commerce College, Bardoli, Dist. Surat. She is the author of twelve books in Gujarati including poetry collections, character portrayals and book-reviews. She has translated several short stories from Gujarati into English. She is the recipient of Gujarat Sahitya Academy prize for biography in 2019.
