About the Author
Indra Majupuria,M.A. (Economics and Sociology), B. Ed. is a sociologist and psychologist. She has been teaching for about 28 years at various levels including 7 years as lecture in the Institute of Education, Kirtipur Campus, Tribhuvan University. She has written several books as a co-author with Prof. Dr. T.C. Majupuria, D.Sc., having teaching and research experience of 52 years including 40 years in Nepal. Her outstanding publications are: Nepalese Youth, Joys of Nepalese Cooking, Tibetan Cooking, the Complete Guide to Nepal, Pashupatinath, Erotic Themes of Nepal, Pashupatinath, Erotic Themes of Nepal, Nepalese Women. Her main interests are in the social, cultural and educational fields. She has worked on various projects and has written a number of articles for popular audiences. Some of her books have been translated in Japanese, Thai, German, Italian languages. The book on Kumari has been used for script for some films in English, Japanese and German languages. Indra has traveled in several countries viz. Kuwait, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, U.K., U.S.A., Canada, Singapore, and Malaysia, India etc.
Patricia Roberts is a famous American journalist. She has stayed in Nepal for several years and carried out research work on various subjects of Nepal. She was also a foreign research scholar, registered with Tribhuvan University, Kathamandu. She did intensive studies on Living Virgin Goddess of Nepal and published a very informative article on 'Kumari' in Shangri-La magazine in collaboration with Indra Mujupuria. At present, she stays in United States of America.
