Preface
I have been contemplating with the idea of publishing various articles written by me for Seminars and other various Journals on Music during my 40 years of teaching career at the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts, University of Delhi since 1960.

I could have done much more, as this publication is not even a drop in the ocean of Music as I always feel, I am still a student of Music. Let this attempt to publish my work, may not be misunder stood by the connoisseurs of Music as, the topics are simple and general in nature. I have just compiled them for the benefit of the students of Music. My achievement in the domain of Indian Music has put me in a rare and unique place. No one in my family was a musician, my revered Guruji Ustad Mushtaq Ali Khan Sahab was not a musician for the mass. As a representative of the traditional "Senia Gharana." I have been playing Sitar with 17 Frets, the tradition followed from the time of the great Senia Sitar Maestro Masit Sen the originator of Masit Khani Style, which no one follows today except Ustad Mushtaq Ali Khan Sahab's students and followers.
