Book Description
Pandit Madhavacharya Shastri is not only familiar among the Indian Scholars but among forergners also. In the present age, he is considered to be the backbone of the Sanatanist World. The services rendered by him for Sanatana Dharma are beyond description. Some decades back, he tried to give a clear picture of Sanatana Dharma to the world but as he lacks proficiency in the English language, he could not succeed to spread his thought among the Europeans who were having interest in Indian religion and culture. But now, he will be happy seeing his long-cherished ambition fulfilled in this way i. e. in the presentation of the Sanatana Dharma in the English Version.
I wanted to place before you the correct interpretation and almost all the points related with Sanatana Dharma very clearly. But, it is left to the reader to judge to what extent I have succeeded in doing so. I would feel honoured if they like it, and would also wish to publish some more works related to Sanatana Dharma in the near future.
When a man is caught up in the pleasures of sensual and sexual enjoyment, he forgets the aim of human life. To take delicious food, to puton fine dress, to enjoy through sexual indulgence and to produce two to ten issues and also to collect money by this or that way, is not the aim of human life, because all these actions are found even in the birds and animals too. They also eat, drink, sleep, fear and by sexual enjoyment produce their offspring. If a man feels satisfied with all these only, then there will be no difference between him and an animal or a bird.
From the study of the history of the world we know that in the ancient period so many times the man-made creeds spread all over the world though now no man or follower of those can be found anywhere.
175 crore years ago a demon by name Hiranyakasi-pu had tried to force the people to worship him by abolishing (removing) the worship of God. But to-day no man can be found who has faith in Hirnyakasipu and worship him.
King Vena had started an unchaste way (illegal religion) but if a little appearance of it is remaining it is in Aryasamaja only. Except that one, in any other race no sign of it can be found at any cost.
The atheist religion of great Indian Philosopher is no more. Accordingly, the civilization of Greeks, Sythians. Hoons, etc., spread all over the world and were very famous once, but to-day no one even knows their value. They totally disappeared from the face of the earth. The sects or races of Israel, Yahudi, Daudi etc, are remaining only to mention. The Buddhists, who were 3/4 in number in India, are hardly found there now (though thousands of low class people have adopted this religion yet it is merely a show. In fact, they believe in Hinduism and remain in it throughout their life, by performing customary religious rites). The subjects or people of Tibet. China, Japan and Ceylon are considered as the Buddhas (Buddhists) but their faith consists only in eating the dead meat and as if to prove this proverb to be true Keval Patang Vihangamon men, Jalcharon men nave hee. Ik bhojanarth chatushpadon men, charpai bach rahee.
This verse says that the Buddhists take or eat meat of all kinds. For bauddhas only these are forbidden-a Paper kite among the flying bodies, (which fly in the sky. They can eat all except the kite) a boat among the moveable things or creatures in the water and among all the four footed things a cot (bed) is only remaining now. All these are saved only being non-eatables (non-edible). In this way hundreds of religions have started or come into existence, but in the course of time they disappeared like lightining.
