Saral Jyotish Part-1 (Astrology Simplified)

About the Book This book is written with the intent to help Astrology students and practitioners to 'digest' Astrology knowledge and deeply understand it and apply it in their daily practice. That is why; I have named this book, Saral Jyotish. I have simplified Vedic Astrology concepts into easy to understand chunks. For instance, Badhak, Kendradhipati Dosha and Pushkar Navamsha etc.

Fourteen fundamental principles of Astrology are defined, explored and explained. These 14 principles are based on century old classics. Their meaning has been understood in depth; meaning has been analyzed and then presented through simple to understand words and examples. My belief is that these 14 principles are fundamental to making correct predictions. I hope that this book will sharpen the skills of beginner and professional Astrologers.

About the Author Shri Vinod Prakash Goel is a former officer of Indian Engineering Services and served Ministry of Defence, Government of India. He also held senior managerial positions with private companies in India d abroad before setting up engineering, manufacturing and contracting firms

Shri Goel is an M.Tech. From ITT Kharagpur and B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from Banaras Hindu University.

In the year 1999 and 2000, he was awarded Gold Medal for Jyotish Alankar and Jyotish Acharya at the Institute of Astrology, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi. He has written twenty books on Astrology. Six books have been translated into Russian language.

Preface This Shloka very elegantly explores the idea that anything done half way is not just benign, but harmful. Half knowledge is dangerous. And knowledge that is not practiced or used accurately decays like radioactive material, reaching its half-life in just a few years. In the same way, food that is not broken down and digested properly becomes poison for the body. A gathering of resource less people does not accomplish much. Lastly in the same way, a young wife for an old man is poison.

A simple Google search reveals that Vedic or Hindu Astrology is practiced by 20 lakh people in India. This goes to show the popularity of this Divine science. I have been a worshipper of this Divine Science for the last 40 years, and a teacher for the last 18 years. And even now, I have still only touched the tip of the ice berg. It is my belief, that the vast treasures of deep secrets that this science holds are yet to be discovered.

We are surrounded by multiple opinions on each aspect of Astrology, and this can cause confusion. There are different books with different ways of predicting the same things. Concepts that on the face of it, seem to contradict each other.
