The Spirit of Isa Upanisad

In commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, we are glad to introduce to the readers, the English translation of Swami Shivatatvananda's book on Ra Upanisad originally written in Marathi, published by Ramakrishna Math, Nagpur in the year1968. The title of this book in English is 'The Spirit of Isa Upanisad. '

Upanisads are the source of spiritual knowledge in India. The direct experience of the sages-about the Ultimate Reality of human life and this world is expressed in Upanisads through various facets. Ba Upanisad is one of them, though quite small it is extremely important.

Every intellectual human being is aware of imperfection in human life. He feels it should be better than what it is; it should be full of happiness sans misery, full of light sans darkness of ignorance. But since he does not know the real nature of the divine life, he does not find the path which will lead him to it, instead gets deluded by the false and deceiving delights and lingers about in the same darkness.

Isa Upanisad tells us about the nature of the real divine life which is the ultimate goal of human life and also the path which leads to its attainment.

The revelation of this Ultimate Truth of Pa Upanisad is explained in such lucid way in the present text that it will certainly appeal to the readers. We have full faith that the study of this book will surely give spiritual strength and help to our readers.
