Book Description

About the Book

This work has grown through lectures given at SRSG (Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama, Rishikesh, India); it is from this that it derives its pattern of presentation. The work is possible only through the grace of my respected and beloved teacher, Mahamandeleshwara Swami Veda Bharati, disciple of Swami Rama of the Himalayas, and of the Himalayan Yoga lineage. It has also been shaped by my interactions with students of the Gurukula 2008 and by studying Brahmrishi Vishvamat Bawra's comments on the text. The ideas expressed in the following contemplations are not meant to stimulate intellectual debate; they are meant to raise awareness and to allow the growth of a deeper wisdom in all who are serious students of Yoga and Sankhya.

About the Author

Swami Nityamuktananda, (Order of Saraswati) has dedicated her life to the realization of divine Truth and the dissemination of it in whatever form, creed, or context. German by birth and naturalized British, she originally studied theology; however, her studies soon expanded to education, psychology, philosophy, and art and design (ceramics), as well as various branches of complementary medicine. She has taught at a number of colleges and universities across the globe. At the centre of her studies and teaching has always been the subject of self-awareness. Extensive travel and living in Asia (including China, Japan, and India) awakened her interest in Eastern philosophy and led, via the Zen arts of Raku and Shiatsu, to deep involvement in Sattipathana (mindfulness), Yoga, Vedanta, and meditation.

Foreword

Swami Nityamuktananda Saraswati an acclaimed scholar and teacher par excellence who has dedicated her life to the realization of Divine Truth and the dissemination of it is now making available knowledge that will help one to develop spiritually.

Having travelled extensively, she continues to guide many people from across the globe and provides self less service all the time. She is now dedicating this book to her beloved teacher Maha Mandeleshwar Swami Veda Bharati, the disciple of Swami Rama of the Himalayas.

This book is written for a wide variety of readers. Swami Nitya as she is fondly called says that she is doing this to 'raise awareness and allow growth of a deeper wisdom in all who are serious students of Yoga and Sankya'.

Swami Nitya is lighting a light that will light many other lights. I am deeply honored to write this forward on behalf of the Association of Himalayan Yoga and Meditation International (AHYMSIN).
