About the Author:

Dr. N. Ghosh Hajra is Project Director, heading the Darjeeling Tea Research and Development Center. Tea Board of India. He acquired his Master's Degree from the University of Calcutta, and a doctorate from Burdwan University. A recipient of CSIR Post Doctoral Scholarship, Dr.N.Ghosh Hajra was a visiting scientist at the invitation of the University of Antwerpen in Belgium. A frequently invited speaker at several international conferences including those held at Bordeau, France, Beijing, China, Brussels, Belgium and Shizuoka,Japan, he is associated with different professional bodies including Academy of Plant Sciences, India, and Society for the Plantation Crops. Dr. N. Ghosh Hajra has authored nearly one hundred research papers, monographs in professional journals of international repute and four books besides a large number of popular articles for which he has received awards and a gold medal.
