About the Author In an overpopulated city like Kolkata, conquering mosquitoes by the KMC alone is just not feasible. City dwellers ought to realise this and they need to take the buck, too. Sadly, people here still consider mosquito control a lowly task. Through his writings over the past 20 years, Dr Debashis Biswas has been trying hard to crack this detrimental civic outlook. So far he has written 6 books and 25 research papers on mosquitoes. Add to this, a tally of around 100 popular stories in leading English and Bengali dailies. And for his untiring work, he was conferred the "Dr. Gopal Chandra Bhattacharya Memorial Award" by the Science Association of Bengal in 2004.
