Book Description
The book is a revaluation of Graham Greene, one of the most widely read novelist of the century. It aims at showing the conflicts in the minds of Greene's characters who slowly undergo a change as they recognize the presence of God. The author's. assessment reveals that his protagonists travel to self-realization and potential salvation via self condemnation and fascination for evil. Their hearts are usually pulled in two opposite directions by a host of conflicting motivational forces but ultimately realize the values of submission, compassion and renunciation that may lead them to salvation.
With a short bio-graphical sketch of Graham Greene, the book elaborates the evolution of Greene's fictional talent; bringing into sharp focus his thematic and personative preferences, as well as his use of imagery as a major narrative device.
