Kasganj and Its Urban Field- A Study in Rural-Urban Relationship

About the Book Sixty years have elapsed, ever since. India achieved independence, but the development of her different regions has been in a haphazard way, so much so that some, regions have shown an alarming progress while others are still living in their primitive stage. The, progress of one area has been done, at the cost of the progress of the other. The economic policy of our Government has been such that much emphasis has not been given to those areas which are situated far from the developed areas. It has therefore become incumbent on Geographers belonging to different areas to analyze the causes responsible for this uneven development of different region of the country.

The aim of the study has been to analyze Kasganj And Its Urban Field (A Study in Rural-Urban Inter Relationship) and to sort-out the factors responsible for the interdependence of the tributary area or umland or service area of Kasganj Tehsil on their headquarter i.e. Kasganj Urban Field's. The problem in its inductive from assumes greater significance than the reasons responsible for the inter-relationship of village and towns on Kasganj urban field. Scholars and Geographers of high eminence, of late have become interested in such type of work so much so that different researchers within as well as outside the country are being undertaken on establishing Town and its urban field and their inter relationship on each other in matters of education, health, trade and commerce, finance, communications, bus and rail services, administration, Judiciary, Cooperative societies and family planning etc.

About the Book Date of Birth 6th Dec., 1972 in Kasganj, Etha, U.P Educational Qualification M. A. (Geography), M. Ed. from Rajasthan University and Ph. D. from Agra University, in Kasganj and Its Urban Field (A Study of Rural-Urban Inter relationship). She is Post Graduate Diploma in Human Rights from Delhi University and she also awarded Jyotishprachaarya, Varansi.

She regularly contributes to journals and magazines on different subjects.

Awards 1. Indoor Championship award in 1988-89 at Degree Level.

2. Athletics Championship (Gold Medal) award in 1991-92 at Degree Level.

3. 1st Prize in Drawing at University Level in the Topic of Environment, Population and Planning.

4. Prudent Student Award in 2004 05 from Rajasthan University, Jaipur. 5. Other Sports award & Gold Medal in Jyotish Ratan.

Introduction EOGRAPHY is that a follower that seeks to mark out and interpret the changeable character form place to place of the earth as the world of man. Urban geography attempts such description and interpretation for these parts of the earth's surface classified as urban field.

Regional approach in geographic studies has long been regarded as inherently geographic or rather the focal attempt of all geographic work." The aim is now to analyze the region in terms of the optimum use of regional resources, physical, biotic and human including institutional, base on a political and socio-economic rationale within a general stochastic frame work. A region must be unified culturally, economically and later gained only by the integrated planning or rather say regional planning, because it represents the unified development programmed of a region.

A New vista of contributive research have been found in regional planning by the geographers, particularly in the demarcation of the hinterlands of urban centre and also delineation of the hierarchy of regions for resource planning as based on the assessment of physical and human resources and their potentials for a balance and integrated national economical development. "Geographers are not mainly concerned with the spatial distribution of physical and cultural features on the surface. He is proceeding towards finding orderly and patterned components of integrative areas complementary it seemingly disorderly and randomly scattered spatial phenomena on the earth's surface." He can make unique contribution in the delineation of regional disparities and can suggest the integrated area development programmers.
