Book Description
As one of the world's youngest religions, the Sikh faith retains the original manuscript of the Guru Granth Sahib intact (at Kartarpur) along with other rescensions which are in the possession of old Sikh families. For Sikhs everywhere, the Guru Granth Sahib is Guru and teacher, the verse and song of the Gurus, the Divine word in revelation, the cornerstone of a faith that enlightens and empowers.
One of the first to render an English translation of the Guru Granth verses was M.A. Macauliffe in his acclaimed volumes Sikh Religion He wrote: All persons of discrimination acquainted with the Sikhs set a high value on them, but it appears that a knowledge throughout the world of the excellence of their religion would enhance even the present regard in which the are held.
