For authentic practice of Ayurveda we are deliberately in need of a thorough knowledge in medicinal plants mainly in its identification and special properties. In recent ayurvedic syllabus the herbal drugs are divided into detailed and non-detailed groups. Even though the syllabus and the curriculum is giving equal importance to both the groups, the students are not giving enough consideration to the non-detailed drugs besides the factthat most of the drugs in non-detailed groups are having more clinical efficacy than some of the drugs in detailed group
It is also practically difficult to grow all the medicinal plants in the herbal garden effectively as most of them are from different habitat so the identification of all the non-detailed drugs from college herbal garden is also not possible so here I am doing a humble effort to make the no- detailed drugs more familiar to the ayurvedic under graduate students along with its colour photographs so that it will be easy for the students to identify the specific drugs easily and effectively
There is no letter without mantra, No roots without medicinal value, No person is absolutely useless, but person who can identify its utility are found rare.
