About the Author

A Kashmiri by birth the late Dr. G.M.D Sufi was the first registrar of the Delhi University. Later he joined the Education Department of the then Central Provinces (modern M.P). Dr. Sufi has written copiously on Kashmir and its Culture. He believed in working on the field and paid annual visits to Kashmir, meeting people and collecting and verifying information. All this resulted in his books "Islamic culture in Kashmir" and his monumental work, "Kashmir" .Both the books have become standard work on this subject.
