The Calcutta Municipal Gazette: Acharya Jagadis Chandra Bose (An Old and Rare Book)

Foreword This year Sir Jagadis Chandra's one hundred fiftieth birth anniversary is being celebrated throughout the country. Sir Jagadis's connection with the city was unique as he himself stated - "It was the watching of a weed that grew by the roadside of Calcutta that led to the extension of my work from the realm of the inorganic to the great mystery that underlies all organised life and its diverse manifestation".

Kolkata Municipal Corporation has seized the opportunity in this connection to acquaint our new readers and the countrymen by presenting a book on this great soul of science. A book containing past write-ups presently placed in a new order adding some rare photographs and notes.

I hope this book will be useful to know Sir Jagadis in a better way. I thank the officers and staffs of KMC who have taken the hardship in this endeavour.
