Book Description
Preface
Every Woman wants to be beautiful. But while some are born beautiful, others are not. Those who are born beautiful may look worn out with passage of time. This is the reason why, in order to stay beautiful, women of all ages need expert advice commonly knows as "Beauty Care". Indeed, skin care is essential for not only women but also men, for the prolongation of youthful looks.
Beauty products were invented to enhance natural beauty and it is very important that a woman should know that what are various skin disorders or diseases which mar beauty and which kind of creams and lotions should be used to keep the skin free of blemishes. Everyone covets that natural but beautiful look with healthy glowing skin and for achieving that, one has to work internally as well as externally, with a little help from nature and with the art of skilful make-ups. But before starting anything, it is imperative that you take a look at the skin the largest organ of the human body which is as hard working as your heart or lungs.
I always advise me reader to go for natural preventives, herbal treatments and home-made remedies. These home-made preparations are effective to maintain beauty of skin without any side-effects. In case of serious problems these potions act as a soothing back-up, but it is always advisable to consult a doctor. I am grateful to Dr. Jitender Arora, M.B.B.S., M.D., Head of the Department of Skin and V.D., Medical College; and Associated Hospitals, Jammu who have assisted me in writing a few chapters on dermatology. I hope this book will reveal how common skin problems and diseases can be avoided, controlled or cured with a little effort on your part, and where necessary, a bit of guidance from the family doctor.
While planning for the book, the intention was to make it easily comprehensible and readable for the common reader. To this effect the language has been specifically kept simple, easy and lucid with relevant illustrations. Thanks to the amazing advances in medical sciences, the discomforts, connected with the skin diseases have become much easier to cope with.
It is generally seen that the commonest problems of the skin are excessive dryness or oiliness enlarged pores, muddy look, blemishes and blackheads, etc. These are caused by internal disorders, an improper diet, insufficient rest, lack of fresh air and exercise and above all, indifferent skin cleansing habits. Remember, good eating habits as well as correct selection and use of proper cosmetics can correct all these problems. If you are in search of a smooth complexion, maintain healthy habits with a healthy appetite.
When a woman is hot, angry or embarrassed, her skin changes colour from pink to red. When she is tried and upset, her skin looks puffy and pale. The skin blooms with dewy freshness, when it is young, it wrinkles and dries out with age. This book tells how to younger and more beautiful. Your skin, which is exposed to all kinds of weather conditions, needs constant attention.
I would welcome suggestions for the improvement of this volume.
