About the Book

This book "A Text Book of Practical Dravyit Guna Pignana" aims at gathering the pearls of knowledge regarding practical identification of dravyas scattered in various texts of Ayurveda. This text book mainly covers the Fundamental concepts of the Dravya Guna Shasta in brief along with the Modem fundamental, Sthavara dravya and Jangama dravya.

This text book is divided into two parts. Part 1, is subdivided into two sections. Section-I, deals with Fundamentals of Dravya Guna Shastra as Dravya, Rasa, Guna, Yeerya, Hpaka, Prabluiva and karma in brief. Section II, deals with the Modern fimdanzentals like Plant Morphology i.e. External Morphology, Internal morphology, Physicochemical Evaluation and preparation of Herbarium along with significance. Part H, is again subdivided into two sections. Section-I, Deals with Stlitivara dravya and section- II, deals with Jangama dravya given under syllabus of CCIM by giving more importance to its Macmscopical and Microscopical identity along with some Microscopical images of the plant under consideration. Hence this will the beneficial for undergraduate and post graduate students of Dravya Guna Vignana.

About the Author

About the Author Dr. Dhulappa M. is distinguished Ayurvedic scholar. He has born on 186 July 1977 in Ghat Boral village of Humnabad Tq, Dist Bidar, Karnataka. He studied his school at Ghat Boral and completed his HAMS from N.K. Jabshetty Ayurvedic Medical College and P.G. Centre, Bidar in 2001. He completed his post graduation in the subject Dravya Guna from Dr. B.N.M.E's Rural Ayurvedic Medical College, Bijapur in October 2008.

He joined as Asst. Professor in the department of Dravya Guna in 2008 at N.K. Jabashetty Ayurvedic Medical College and P.G. Centre Bidar, Karnataka. Now he is working as Reader in post, graduate Dept. of Dravya Guna. He is recognized guide in Dept. of Dravya Guna by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangaluru. He guided two post graduate dissertation and teaching Dravya Guna and research methodology for undergraduate and post graduate students. He published more than 9 research papers and given several guest lecturer at various institutional levels.
