About The Book

The promise of the 21" century was shattered by the most unusual and unexpected 9/11, and many questioned the role of Religion: What was it doing? Was it at all needed? But the indirectly though, asked Japan to come forward with her Buddhism and do something about it. Like Kublai Khan in olden times-who had used this religion to soften the violence of his Mongolian people, the paper delivered a message to the otherwise fast globalising world.

Among the plethora of world religions, Buddhism is perhaps the only one which teaches Non-violence and practices it. Non-violence is the chief tenet of its faith, and has also proved its effectiveness in history. It still influences a large part of the world and is gaining fresh ground in the West.

It therefore seemed a good idea to work out an encyclopedia of Buddhism, with the general educated reader all over the world in mind. Ideas shared have an intrinsic force and help in changing the ways of life. Here is the Buddhopedia in six volumes, the first of which presents the wonderful life of the great game- director of human beings for all times.
