He is highly qualified and held Senior Class 1 Officer positions in Government Services for 25 years.
He is the Founder and Chairman of Thanu Foundation which serves a number of Educational Institutions, including International Institute of Thanology, Madras-600 102.
He has taken keen interest in Varmam (Thanuology) since his childhood and studied hundreds of ancient works. His Guru in the study of Varmam (Thanuology) is (Late) Dr. A. Subramania Pillai who was the Principal of Siddha Medical College, Muncherai, Kanyakumari District. His advanced study was guided by Daiveega Vaithyar (Late) Dr. Thanu Pillai of Kattimankodu.
He was an active participant in the II World Tamil Conference, held at Madras in 1968. He has participated in the Juplex Exhibition held in the Presidency College of Madras University, Madras, in 1983. He is responsible to take up usefulness of Thanuology to the chairman, Medical Commission, International Olympic Committee, Switzerland, so as to finance for setting up a full-fledged Institute for Thanuology as Sports Medicine at Madras. He has also moved both the Goverment of Tamil Nadu and the Government of India to create a separate department for the Medical Science Thanuology to enable to impart treatment to victims who meet with accidents. He has created an awareness of Thanuology in the Medical World to derive its usefulness in the days to come.
He has contributed a large number of articles to many dailies and magazines and delivered speeches in the All India Radio on many occasions.
He has written about 45 treatises on Varmam (Thanuology), of these, 36 books have since been published and others are in different stages of publication. He is an authority in Varmam by his decades of research, practice and teaching at the University and at International levels. He has trained 415 students in Varma Practice.
He has been practising Asanas for many decades since his boyhood. His ambition is to start a school for yoga. He is of firm conviction that yogis who are strict Bramacharis can do all Asanas. But it cannot be practised by all common public. The persons who enter into Kirahastha may continue to do limited Asanas. Hence the Beginners course came into being.
