When the sights and smells of the world pull us in a direction at variance to this agenda, there is confusion and dilemma. Knowledge is power. Unfolding this agenda gives us the power to make informed choices and avoid the stress and fear of the unknown, the power to know our potential and achieve success and happiness in life. This book reveals the ancient language of stars in a systematic, step by step and do it yourself manner.

Introduction

Destiny is the agenda for this life, fixed by our self, before taking birth. It is deeply buried in our psyche. Being overwhelmed by the sights and smells of this world we are no longer aware of it. It's like a forgotten agenda yearning to express itself through our urges and desires. We tend to have natural affinity towards situations and circumstances in sync with this agenda. We also build another agenda based on the sights and smells of this world, that may be at variance to the original and that is the dilemma. It's like adding more and more items to your ‘To Do' list while a lot is still pending. There is nothing right or wrong in this, that's the way life is.

We feel good when something gets checked off this list. But we feel even better when something is checked off the original list. Sometimes, we feel as if we are moving effortlessly and things just click and sometimes nothing ever moves despite our best efforts. That's when we need to know what's really going on. To know this predefined agenda is quite empowering in two ways. One, you are less surprized and can understand your life situations. This clarity gives strength to handle things proactively and with calm. The other and more important is the ability to change, mould or make this agenda insignificant to what you decide to do. This can be quite challenging but that's where the success in life is, to evolve and go beyond your destiny.

But, without knowing the stars, it becomes extremely difficult and sometimes frustrating. A person who is deeply connected with the inner self may know it instinctively. But that's not possible for everyone mired in life situations. Astrology was developed precisely for that reason, for people of the world to discover their lost agenda and be familiar with it and then try to set the life path with full understanding. As you are the best person to know yourself, it is best to learn it for yourself and people close to you. Traditionally it was mostly used by Guru to understand the strengths and weaknesses of students to put them on the right track. Then it was taught to those who really wanted to learn it.

Somewhere, down the line, in turbulent times of history, it lost the direction and much of the knowledge became guarded and obscure. The written descriptions were either incomplete or coded to be explained only to chosen few and though it was to avoid its misuse, or that is how it is said, but that is exactly what happened for it being limited in access. Astrology in India, over time, became domain of only a few, who over time had only half cooked and limited knowledge but practiced it blatantly, plunging it further into areas of sorcery and darkness.

In the last century, several new researchers have done a lot of work in re-establishing the facts, removing misconceptions and establishing some order in the chaos. This has led to a renewed interest in the subject especially of the new educated class. My study in this area over the last 20 years was exciting and painful at the same time. Exciting for the tremendous potential it held and painful for the little useful resource that is available for present day students. It was my privilege to have met many great people at most unexpected times and collect pearls of wisdom from them. However, it took me tremendous effort and years of patience to synthesise these timeless principles into a systematic process of reading the destiny, to be useful for present day readers.

The book can be considered in three parts. For Part one, the first two chapters deal with very basics of Astrology while in the third chapter we discuss the development of predictive astrology, how various methods of prediction came into practice and their limitations. The new method proposed in the book is explained systematically in the fourth chapter. Chapter five to Seventeen can be considered the second part where each individual house is discussed in detail. The third part from chapter eighteen onwards deals with predictive techniques and examples on various aspects of life like Health, Education, Wealth etc.
