About the Book Raga is the prominent feature of Indian classical Music. All classical Music forms are expressed through Raga. In Instrumental Music, the delineation of Raga begins with Alap, Jor Alap, Maseetkhani Gat followed by Todas and layakari and later express through Razakhani Gat, Tanas, Jhala and finally concludes with Tihai. This work deals with systematic delineation of Ragas in classical Instrumental Music. The salient feature of this book is that it also fills up the void felt so far by giving a vast number of Traditional compositions (Maseetkhani and Razakhani Gats) of various Gharanas while giving the traditional way of delineating a Raga in Classical Instrumental Music.
The Volume is indeed a valuable source of information for the practitioners of Instrumental Music whose quest for an analytical understanding about delineation of Raga will be fulfilled.
