About the Book

The present book is the proceedings of the National Seminar on "Translated Literature in Sanskrit" hosted by the Department of Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit, Faculty of Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda on 10th and 11th February 2009. It embodies 43 compre- hensive, informative and analytical research papers presented by the contributors in the said national Seminar. They highlight some of the significant aspects of Translated Sanskrit Literature of modern times. The book will be very much useful to the researchers and scholars interested in the field of Modern Sanskrit Literature. The book is first of its kind in Sanskrit.

About the Editors

Dr. Rabindra Kumar Panda, the editor of the present volume is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit, Faculty of Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He has written and edited 27 books and has 60 articles published. He is an eminent poet and creative writer in Sanskrit. He has received international and national awards. Recently he is awarded "Akhila Bharatiya Kalidas Award" by the Kalidas Sanskrit Academy, Ujjain for his collection of stories "Chhinnachhaya" and also "Rashtriya Gaurav Puraskar" awarded by International Friendship Society, New Delhi for over all contribution to Sanskrit language and literature.

Dr. Mrs. Shweta Avdhoot Jejurkar, the editor of the present volume is Assistant Professor in the Department of Sanskrit, Pali and prakrit, Faculty of Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. She is the recipient of Dr. S.S. Bhawe Veda and Vyakarana Prize, Vallabh Bedanta Prize and Sangeet Kala Gaurav Puraskar. She is also awarded five Gold medals in Sanskrit and Vocal Music by the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. She is the author/editor of 02 books and has 20 articles published. She is appointed as an examiner upto Visharad level by the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Vidyalaya mandal, Miraj, Maharashtra since 1997. She has given about 30 Solo performances of Hindustani Classical Vocal Music.
