Book Description

Preface
History is a frozen fossil. In an elementary sense, it means that the study of history is a record and reports of the events of yesteryears. It is a record of the social, political and economic conditions of the lost years of nations. The purpose of this book is to develop and narrate the importance of historical record and its spill over into the present tale of the Sikh people. It is an analysis of the struggle for the survival and establishment of Sikh nationalism and homeland on the soil of its origin. Sikh nationalism and its quest for homeland cannot be understood without explaining the whole history of their struggle. Without bringing these facts into the light, the glorious chapters of Sikhism and their problems and difficulties would be a big puzzle. The main cause of the problem, it is argued, is the apathy, neglect and dishonest attitude of the leaders of India both in the pre-independence and post-independence periods. Arguments in the book are based on the historical and legal basis of the rights of the Sikh nation.
