About the Author John Karlos Kenned Paterson was the famous British Civil servant. He is known for writing Bengal District Gazetteer Burdwan. He presented a firsthand information of the erstwhile Burdwan district in first decade of twentieth century. He stayed in India for long period. He provided us the an indepth, comprehensive knowledge and overview of the contemporary administration in 1910.
