Dr. Dhanya Renuka Nair

She completed her Ayurvedic studies from the prestigious institutes, Vaidyaratnam P.S Varier Ayurveda College, Kottakkal, Kerala (BAMS) and Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala (MD-Dravyaguna Vigyan). She is currently working as Assistant Professor, Department of Dravyaguna Vigyana, SNKD Trusts Nallasopara Ayurved Medical College, Nallasopara, Maharashtra. She has presented papers at two international seminars and has published papers in three international peer reviewed journals.

Dravyaguna Vigyan is a lengthy and difficult subject when it comes to Ayurvedic post graduate entrance and other competitive exam preparations. It's a vast subject that spans over many contexts- Vedic literature, Samhita, Nighantu, Kayachikitsa etc. Learning Dravyaguna Vigyan is a continuous process which requires a lot of perseverance. Only hard work can yield you high marks in the subject. More than understanding, it's a subject very difficult to remember and a subject with a huge scope of MCQs. Hundreds of MCQs can be made from each drug in the syllabus of the subject and this makes the subject a big hurdle in front of all the competitive exam aspirants.

This book is a humble attempt to make the subject easier for all competitiye exam aspirants. The book is divided into two parts. Part-1 contains 1000 MCQs and part-2 is the Appendix. During the last days of exam preparation, solving MCQs is an important part of studying. So this book comes with 1001 MCQs and covers every part of Dravyaguna Vigyan syllabus. Additionally, in this portion, we have added explanation to many MCQs because it is quite natural that seeing a particular question, the student feels the need to revise the portion once again. For example, seeing a question on the karma of Vijaya variety of Haritaki, the student may wish to have a ready reckoner from which he/she can find about other varieties of Haritaki and their karma. So this book comes handy in your last minute exam preparations where you don't have to search multiple texts to find the relevant information, instead it is given along with the answer. We have added maximum number of questions from various recent PO entrance examinations, which will give the aspirant an idea about the nature of questions in the competitive exams. The appendix is a concise study material of Dravyaguna Vigyan according to new syllabus by CClM. Some portions are given in bold letters to give more emphasis as these portions are more important from competitive exam point of view. During last minute preparations, revising these portions will help students score more marks. The study matter in the appendix part is mostly presented in the form of charts which makes it easy to compare, understand and remember things easily.
