Book Description

Preface
This small book is a compilation of some of my recent essays, speeches and prefaces written to various books. As they deal with topics relevant to present and future studies in Tamilology, they are published here as a handy volume even though they lack in-depth research.

There are thirteen chapters of varying length in this small title.

The chapters Tamil Culture at the Crossroads and Classical Tamil - A Prologue are the prefaces written to the books entitled The Contributions of Tamils to the Composite Culture of Asia and Tamil as a Classical Language.

Challenges and Solutions in the Development of Tamil Studies was prepared for the Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission.

Contributions of Christianity to Dravidian Literature is the text of my speech delivered in a National Seminar organised by the Dravidian University, Kuppam.

Preservation of Tamil Palm-leaf Manuscripts at the Institute of Asian Studies is the speech delivered by me at the International Seminar organised by the UNESCO Memory of the World Committee, Asia Pacific (MOWCAP) and Southeast Asian Ministers of Education organisation SEAMEO, Regional Centre of Archaeology and Fine Arts at Bangkok, Thailand.
