Foreword

Health is closely associated with education. As two basic sectors of social policy, they complement each other. In children’s lives too, we know how much both learning and teaching depend on health. Despite this bond between education and health, we seldom come across examples of holistic schooling in which the two are treated with equal earnestness. On the contrary, it is all too common an experience to see that the process of education puts children under so much mental stress and the pressure to perform that they surrender to an unbalanced routine and life-style. Poor knowledge of health- related issues is not uncommon among teachers and parents as well, and this contributes to the general state of poor awareness in the system.

The National Curriculum Framework, 2005, articulates a holistic perspective on health education at all stages of the system of education. It upholds a child- centred vision of education which covers aspects of development and links learning with life. This vision calls for a radical change in the way health is customarily looked at, especially in the context of illness and cure. This book by Dr. Mohammad Qasim draws upon his vast knowledge and experience to introduce us to the deeper issues concerning our health in modern times, especially the responsibility that we have to keep ourselves healthy and lead a fulfilling life. We hope that the book will inspire the young readers to take greater care of themselves with a positive attitude and awareness of the subtler factors which determine health and personal efficiency.

Preface

In this book I have tried to explain some of the important aspects of homoeopathy. Medicines have been there since the existence of human beings. The origin, prevalence and the theoretical background remains almost the same in the sphere of medicine, however, the practice may have had some modifications.

Science of homoeopathy strongly advocates change in life style. The change is needed for smooth recovery. A change in the food and living conditions are very crucial for full recovery. These medicines are helpful in accelerating the process of healing and building a strong immune system. The applications are effective in chronic illnesses too.

My dear children, you are the future of this great nation. You are expected to contribute to the growth and development of our country. This is possible if you have healthy bodies and minds. The learned practitioner of science of homoeopathy takes care of our complete well- being. I hope you will read this book patiently and understand the methodology of practice of homoeopathy.
