Book Description

About the Book
This book highlights the unique work of Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal who accomplished the miracle of the rejuvenation of Kali Bein at Sultanpur Lodhi in Punjab through Kar Sewa or voluntary service making it a holy river of sparkling clean water in the real sense. The people recognized the spiritual strength and multi- dimensional genius of Sant Seechewal who offered a model which caught the attention of not only the state and the national leaders but also the environ- mentalists all over the world. No wonder, the world famous magazine TIME admired his work as a specimen of Environ- mental Heroism in its September 2008 issue. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, President of India, described the Seechewal Model as 'one of the nine great technolo- gical achievements of the country. The work of Sant Seechewal has been widely recognised in India and abroad. He was presented with Padmashri Award by the President of India on 30 March, 2017. Despite many awards and honours, Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal is quite an unassuming person who keeps a simple and humble profile and continues to work incessantly for the protection of environment, preservation of water sources, and spiritual growth of the masses.
