Book Description

About the Book
The focus of this study is the phonology and morphology of Indus Kohistani, specifically the variety spoken in the area of Seo village.

Indus Kohistan is a rugged, mountainous region in northern Pakistan. Within the confines of what is presently District Kohistan, several Indo Aryan languages are spoken (in addition to the Iranian language Pashto, which is the provincial language). Apart from Urdu and Pashto, these closely-related languages are indigenous to the area and have been classified as belonging to what is commonly known as the Dardic group of Indo-Aryan languages (Morgenstierne 1961:138, strand 1973:302)
