Preface

If you look up the dictionary definition of management, among many examples you will find clues as to the real definition of management. Some of the definitions are:

• "Management" (from Old French ménagement "the art of conducting, directing," from Latin manu agere "to lead by the hand") characterises the process of leading and directing all or part of an organization, often a business, through the deployment and manipulation of resources (human, financial, material, intellectual or intangible).

• The guidance and control of action required to execute à program. Also, the individuals charged with the responsibility of conducting a program.

• Management is the activity of getting things done with the aid of people and other resources.

... And there are a lot more. With no standard or set or common definition, Management, like our religious texts have been interpreted by various authors, businessmen, scientists etc. in their own formidable way.

Management, one could say has evolved as we have progressed in our existence.

Management knowledge can be derived from our Mythological events, Religious scriptures and Ancient folk stories. Some of those scriptures actually teach the greatest management lessons of our time. It was not only fascinating to understand this knowledge but at the same time it is thrilling to share my interpretations with you for which I would like to thank you for your privileged time. I am sure that this would benefit you in more ways than one.
