PREFACE

Medical science advocates different doses and precautions to their patients. Likewise our India occult Science refers various Yantras for Mitigating various human problems regarding marriage , health , Litigation , enmity , politics and children etc. A Yantra is in the form a “point of contact” with the source of the sound. The process of drawing yantra is called Rekha; Which is a “magical act”, an act made with “one-pointedness” and intensity . As the Rekha (movement structure) is made in “innovation” thus energies are releasewd which gives a shape of yantra. The making of Yantra is a cautious process possessing a Divine Power with an unlimited potency. For a particular problem the judicious application of Yantra verues from person to person in accordance to his horoscope ; age & sex . Those who want to practice Yantra must seek a true Guru and undertake this spiritual task under his blessings only. The Sadhak should do his duties in the world and worship the deity without Selfish motive . He should do his duties in the world and worship the deity without selfish motive. He should not intend to acquire wealth & possession for bad deeds. Though the book is in English only but a separate translation vocabulary of technical words and mantras has given at the end for the convenience of readers. I do hope this book is an eye opener and it will propel our readers to appreciate this Divine Science.

May this Occult Science thrive manifold under the inspiration of our great Saints , Vedas , Shastras whose foundation was only truth.

INTRODUCTION

Yantra Tantra practices flourished on a grand scale throughout Eastern India until the beginning of the thirteenth century , when the Muslims invaders laid to waste the great universities and center of Yantra- Tantra , slaughtering most of the inhabitants. Many thousands of books, manuscripts, paintings and icons were destroyed . Those who were able escaped to Nepal, Tibet, Assam,Burma, South India , Ceylon and Java. This was the end of the golden age for Yantra –Tantra in India … Only in Tibet, Nepal and the more remote areas of the Indian Himalayas , were the original yantra-Tantra Teaching preserved. Recently the Chinese invaders of Tibet have repeated the wholesale destruction of the Yantra –Tantra Books, Manuscripts, icons and monasteries.

The influence of Hinduism upon the Yantra Tantra is most marked from the time of the Muslim Invasion. The great sage Shankracharya had already strengthened and given life to the Brahmanic (Hindu) philosophy of the eight century and his expounding of the Vajra yana Philosophy in clear Hindu terms had already brought about a great religious revival. The quite a number of “Hindu Tantra” texts had already appeared before the Muslim invasions indicates that Hinduism was prepared to carry these teachings with the persecution , and resultant disappearance , of Buddhism from India. In the latter medieval period , the Tantric practices became mixed with the pre Aryan Kapa;ika, Aghori , Nathist , Shaibite and Shakta rites and also with the more primitive tribal and animist influences ,with the result that the practices become associated with the idea of sacrifice ,often of an objectionable kind. Bengal, Asam. Orissa and Bihar still remained centers of practices, though the shortage of really developed teachers (due mainly to the Muslim persecution) and the resultant misinterpretation of the tantric texts through not understanding the real meaning of the secret Sandhya bhasa Language (“twilight-Language”) on the account of all the allegorical style, greatly changed the mode of worship with the result that Yantra – Tantra fell into ill repute.

From the thirteenth century to the present day Yantra-Tantra has maintained a strong influence on religious practice throughout the East ,despite attempts at suppression by the Muslims and the orthodox Hindus. Many Hindu temples house images which trace their origin to the tantric Visualisation, and there are few religious observances which do not have a strong element of Tantric symbolism.

In Tibet, Yantra Tantra developed along purely has Buddhist lines(though the Bon persists adopted the Tantras , they are indistinguishable from the Buddhist) until the recent Chinese occupation. Bengal has remained a stronghold of the tradition, on Yantra-Tantra thoughin a modified from strongly influenced by Shavite, Shakta , Vaishnav and Baul cults. In fact the bauls still continue the oral tradition of the earliest Yantra –Tantra. Bengal has produced a formidable lines of Tantric Gurus….. form the earliest of the Siddhas, Shabaripa, Darikapada, to the medieval Raghunatha siromani, Sri Chaitanya, Krsnananda Agamavagisa, ramkrishna Paramahamsa, bamakepha and Sri Aurobindo to mention only the better known.

Tantrism is still practiced in Asam ,Orrisa parts of South India, Nepal Sikkim and Bhutan, as well as other parts of the Indian Himalaya. The past decade has shown atremendous revival in Yantra Tantra among Western countries, probably on account of the psychological and extrasensory implications. In India there are also those who are finding, in the way of Yantra Tantra, a new hope for the future.

If the intelligent in modern India could view the Yantra-Tantra tradition with that warm empathy which the builders of Khajuraho and Konarak must have felt, yantra Tantra in India may well be therapeutical for many cultural ills that beset her today.
