The Naive Bird (Collection of Poems)

Nature has always been very close to my heart. The poems of Basanta Kumar Kar on nature and love appealed to me greatly due to their beauty and sensitivity. Shr Kar lives in Chattisgarh. I have been to Chattisgarh and have seen the wild beauty of its nature. Its dense jungles reminded me of my own native place Assam. Such intense greenery as if hides within itself a thousand mysteries. They have always been an inspiration to my own writings. Shri Kar’s poetry also reflects the spirit of such elemental beauty.

Nature and love have always shared a deep bond. Feelings or expressions of love have so much been through metaphors and motifs of nature. Kar’s poetry brings out the beauty and spirit of such relation.

Gandhi rightly said, "In nature there is fundamental unity running through all the diversity we see about us." Kar’s poems, I feel, will take readers close to nature once again. Reading his poems would feel like a journey into the deep relation that human beings have always shared with nature.

I am extremely impressed by this anthology of B.K. Kar’s poems. Tam sure these poems will make us conscious how much we need to comprehend the uniqueness of nature to bring about true peace and joy in today’s troubled world.

The Naive Bird is a collection of poems that exudes the aroma of love intrinsically blended with nuggets of nature, expressing the inner space spontaneously. Inner space that gets recurrent waves and lightning with the company of the Naive Bird that could spread the message of love and happiness. This compilation is dedicated to that Naive Bird unusually gifted to inspire at a time when the soul was in search of it. Seemingly unusual, this gift provided an eternal nest of inspiration.

My poetic journey is a sequel to certain realities of life that I would often cherish. The tender feelings of the Naive Bird insulated me from the entire crowd and hectic schedules and inspired me towards a romantic destination of togetherness.
