Foreword
The very title - Poetry Street, panning out of the mind of a finance professional which normally hovers over Dalal Street or Wall Street... How strikingly creative! Why, is poetic or literary creativity supposed to be an exclusive prerogative of only those sauntering in the literary or academic realm? No, not at all. In fact, most of the creative writers and artists come from the other walks of life. And the creative spark comes to the fore even while introducing a down-to-earth, 'drab' subject like economics, for the objective of any writer is to captivate the attention. Haven't we come across mnemonic couplets, as under, in our economics text books?

"Economics without history has no root History without economics has no fruit"

"Money is a matter of functions four- A medium, a measure, a standard and a store."

If poetry needs to be understood even on streets, it needs to use a language that can be understood by many. And if a poetry book with a 'bank' of ideas needs to reach a wide readership it does need a marketing medium like publishers and literary agents.

Anyone with a healthy outlook of life, a conscientious and hardworking attitude, a keen observation of surroundings, a concern for people around, a pragmatic blend of subjectivity and objectivity in reflection of things - coupled with a good command of language - can easily create good poetry- and that's what Hari Hara Mishra is.

Preface
Sin time immemorial, poems have always been straight from the heart. Only the trend, style, and expressions change with the changing times Message remaining same, there is only a change in the form of messenger.

In the contemporary age of Twitter, we are getting influenced by this potent social media. In an era, where time is a constraint, the message bas necessarily to be optimally reduced for faster transmission and greater audience involvement. Hence a strict restriction on the number of words in an expression is increasingly being accepted as the norm.

While booking my journey into the universe of poetry, I deliberated a while on what to write and bon. And then the realization came, why not start a genre of poems focussed on themes focussed on issues and modelled on the discipline and rigour of Twitter. I call it Twitterli Poems.

This is a unique experiment. I am both happy and humbled by the encouraging reviews of its online Avtar. Many suggested to get it printed in bard copy. And here it goes. Poetry Street An Anthology of Twitterli Poems.

Hope you enjoy the format and the contents. And this sets the trend for a new age poetry writing with the assumption that brevity is the soul of wit. And the Berlin Wall (between prosaic tweet and verses from a poetic beart) is falling down, my fair readers.

From 2020, may be the Twitterli Poems would be seen as T20 of Poems and get wide acceptance just like T-20 version in cricket, which traditionally used to be Five-day Test or One Day Limited Overs.
