Book Description

About The Book

It is now an accepted fact that the Vedas are the most ancient scriptures in the world. Latest studies have concluded that the Rigveda was composed not later then 8000 B.C. Vedas are a treasure trove of all knowledge pertaining to the creation of Universe and the activities of all beings, both animate and inanimate.

Equally astounding is the fact that the Vedas were composed in the most archaic Sanskrit language and that a highly developed urban civilization flourished during the time of the Vedas. However, over the centuries Sanskrit language has lost its utility as a vital means of communication and as a medium for promoting and disseminating knowledge. Sanskrit has come to be regarded as a 'dead' language and the Vedic prescriptions treated merely as propositions for rituals and ceremonies.

The scientific knowledge contained in the Vedas has been ignored and solutions to problems confronting mankind are sought from Western sources. The book is an attempt to analyze the characteristics of the Vedas and provide an insight into the fund of knowledge contained in them. The book presents the Vedic perception of the evolution of life and also analyses the concept of Time-Cycle as propounded in the Vedas. The unfathomable depths of Vedic knowledge is explored in this essay.
