Book Description

About the Book

This book presents the spiritual condition of tribal in the State of Assam, the tribal constitute a large chuck of 10% of the total Indian population. The author observed that the socio-economic status among the tribal people of India is not satisfactory, the condition is also no different in the state of Assam. Even the high literacy rate has failed to open up the possibilities for them and thereby they are mostly engage in unskilled low income earning jobs. Witch-hunting is another problem faced by the tribal people. Missionary activities have not sufficiently serve the tribal in Assam as compared to other tribal groups in North East India.

Therefore, this research recommends to focus its attention on the study of the above topic with an aim to address some possible contextual mission approach to the Rajbangshis and Mising tribes.
