Foreword
Acharya Bhoja was one of the disciples of the lord 'Dhanvantari' as pointed out by Sushrut Samhita commentator 'Dalhana'. Acharya 'Bhoja' had also constructed his treatise named 'Bhoja Tantra' based on the teachings of lord 'Dhanvantari'. But this important treatise lost in the course of time. However, the views of acharya Bhoja were quoted by many commentators as brought forward by author duo Dr. Subhash Waghe and Dr. Pradnya Thakre. Authors have taken immense hard work to search out all these references in various available and rare Sanskrit commentaries. More important was to give it a shape of 'Tantra' according to the construct of old ayurvedic tantra. It’s really indeed a new experiment in reconstructing any lost treatise of Ayurveda and I hope this will pave the way for future explorations to bring out the complete tantra. Both authors deserve special thanks for that and I congratulate both of them for coming out with such innovative idea to reconstruct the lost ancient ayurvedic literature.

Introduction
It is indeed a matter of immense pleasure to introduce this book to the readers. 'Bhoja Tantra' was originally authored by the King 'Bhoja', some 2500 to 3000 BC. The king Bhoja was the contempory of Sushruta and was the student of kashi king Dhanvantari along with Sushruta (Prabhrutaya shabden Bhojadayaha! Dalhan S.Su. 1/3). His treatise mainly deals with surgical procedures and surgical medicine. Bhoja Tantra was very much in practice till the period of 12th Century AD as evident from the commentaries of Vijayrakshit, Chakrapani, Gayadasa, Dalhan and Nischalkar. But since then this important book on surgery had lost in the course of time. When we were the students during our graduation, we have often been told by our teachers that, many Ayurvedic Samhitas have lost in the course of time. It was since then there was curiosity in knowing and tracing these lost famous books.
