Jamoda Jaina Murals (An Old and Rare Book)

Preface The author came across the murals in the Keshariyanath Jaina Mandir at Jamoda rather accidently. The credit for drawing our attention to this area goes to Shri Babasaheb Thakar of Poona. The temple was built by Shri Mulchand Karamchand Binayake in the middle of the eighteenth century. It is still in the private possession of the Binayake family. Shri Sureshkumar Motilal Binayake granted us permission to clean, photograph and publish the murals. He himself and members of his family helped us in a number of ways in our work.
