Agricultural and Indus trial Finance in Nepal. 2. Spatial Economic challenges in Nepal. Diagnosis for brilli-. ant solution.
Preface Nepal has been struggling to achieve economic growth since the advent of democracy in 1950. In the past three decades, various improvement measures have been adopted to stimulate improved and increased production in the country. Although some of the improvement measures have not succeeded, yet the most noteworthy efforts of planned development conceived in 1956 are still in progressing. Realizing the great importance of agriculture in Nepal, a succession of different development plans have been given due priority in this sector. As a result, the prevalent stagnation of agriculture that existed before 1950 has been shifted into a more dynamic state through institutional changes, arrangements and innovative. research programs carried out by the Nepalese govern ment. Many programs, however, which are initiated through the development planning approach are imple mented and executed in the field, lacked continuity of the policies while formulating different periodic development plans, because of the long run strategies. So to bridge the gap between various periodic development plans and policies, there is an urgent need to formulate and execute perspective plans in the agri culture sector. Besides, the existing appearent challenges. of agriculture in Nepal have been analysed through pointing out the different kinds of policies and solu tions for the coming years.
