About the Author
Dr. Parikshit Sahu obtained his Master Degree Applied Economics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar 1995.

He was awarded Ph.D by Utkal University for thesis on "Social Sector Development in Odisha; with special reference to Primary Education and Health Care." Dr Sahu has immense experience of teaching. He interest in teaching and research. He taught papers like Micro & Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics, Public Finance, Statistics, Mathematical Economics, Managerial Economics, Econometrics, Engineering Economics & Costing and so on. In addition that, Rural Development programmes of government, acts, rules, guidelines different programmes and projects to the developmental professionals, government officials, PRI members in different training institutes.

He is a prolific writer, public orator, panelist singer, a musician and like. published good volume research articles, study reports, case studies, success stories to his credit in national and international journals.

Foreword
The Government of India has been making consistent efforts to alleviate poverty since independence.
