About the Book
Prof. A.C. Sarangi, the former Vice-Chancellor, Shri Jagannath Sanskrit University who held the post for two terms and retired as Professor and Head of the Department of Sanskrit, Utkal University in March 2009 is a beloved name among the Sanskrit Post-graduate Pass-outs of the Utkal University and the Sanskrit scholars of the State of Odisha as well. He served the Utkal University for 32 years. This Volume is a token of Sradhasumana in appreciation of his scholarship and contribution to promote Sanskrit studies in the state of Odisha.

Besides the Notes of Felicitation and Reminiscences, the Volume contains sixty chosen papers both from veteran scholars from the country and abroad as well as young researchers of the country. The papers are grouped under I. Vedic Literature, II. Epic and Puranic Literature, III. Classical Poetry and Poetics, IV. Grammar and Linguistics, V. Ethics and Philosophy, VI. History and Religion, VII. Southeast Asian Studies and VIII. Technical Sciences which depict the analytical viewpoints of contemporary researches being carried on by the scholars in their respective disciplines of Sanskrit studies.

About the Authors
Prof. Radhamadhab Dash, presently Head of the Department of Sanskrit, Utkal University, Vanivihar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha has a long and distinguished career of academics such as teaching in the Post-Graduate, M.Phil, and Post-Doctoral classes of Sanskrit in Utkal University and of research of 32 years. He has also taught in the Silpakorn University, Bangkok to the Thai Post-Graduate students for three years (2005-2008) in an assignment on deputation from the ICCR, Govt. of India as Visiting Professor of Sanskrit. Besides editing special Volumes of research papers and proceedings of the National and Regional conferences, he has authored 6 books and contributed 70 research papers on the themes of Veda, Grammar, Religion and Indian Culture, Ornate poetry, Yoga, Language and Linguistics in the journals of International and National repute. His interest of research is multidisciplinary though he has specialised in Paninian Grammar. He has chaired several sessions in the International and National Seminars and Conferences along with presenting 68 papers. Eight students have received their Doctorate Degree and 40 students, M.Phil Degree of the Utkal University working under his guidance. Earlier, he has effectively managed as Head of the Department of Sanskrit, Utkal University during 1998-2000, and as the Course Coordinator of Yogic programmes of the Utkal University for two terms (1999-2000, 2010-12).

Dr. Subash Chandra Dash, Senior lecturer in the Department of Sanskrit, Utkal University is a scholar in Nyaya Philosophy but his interest of research is multidisciplinary including Literature, other systems of Indian Philosophy, Studies on Pali and Buddhism, Manuscriptology, Religion and Indian Culture. He has served the institutions such as Vaidik Samshodhan Mandala, CASS and Deccan College, Pune. He has presented about 50 research papers in International and National Seminars and Conferences. Five students have received their Doctorate Degrees and 25 students, M.Phil Degree of the Utkal University under his guidance. He has authored seven books and contributed 60 research papers in the reputed journals of the International and National status. Currently he is on deputation as Visiting professor of Sanskrit, Mahendradatta University, Bali, Indonesia since February 2012.
