Sikhs and Sikh Institutions in Pakistan

Preface Let me hasten to explain how I landed on the project 'Sikhs and Sikh Institutions in Pakistan'. I have been visiting Nankana Sahib and other Sikh Gurdwaras every year for the last fourteen years. It was in 2013 that, by chance, I met two top officials of Delhi Gurdwara Parbandak Committee in Janamasthan Gurdwara. They were impressed to learn that I had written books on Sikhs in Malaysia and Sikhs in Thailand. They requested me to do a study on Sikhs in Afghanistan. I declined and told them frankly that I was retired and had no money. They said the DGPC, Delhi will provide the funds. I reluctantly agreed. On my way back to Malaysia, I called at the Delhi GPC office at Rakabganj Gurdwara. There I met these officials again. They then asked me to do a study on 'Sikhs in Pakistan'. But later on they refused to fund this book project. Anyhow, since I had already started working on the said project, I decided to do it on my own on a shoe- string budget using my own meager resources.
