Book Description
We are inheritors of a rich treasure of ideas and inventions bequeathed by our rishis. In India, people past middle age withdrew from active social and familial commitments and retired to forest universities. In the serene ambience of a hermitage in the midst of Nature, sages and their disciples delved deep into the mysteries of body and mind.
Their tool was acute observation with an objective mind. Through this prism they perceived animals, birds and plants. Their sensitivity enabled sages to gauge the human need for artistic expression. Some them advised kings on calamities and enemies.
The articles in this book were written by Lalita Ramakrishna for Tattvaloka, spiritual journal of Sringeri Sharada Peetham published once a month from Chennai.
Lalita Ramakrishna honorary Research Director of Tattvaloka. She has published three Text books on Carnatic Music, and two books on Indian philosophy, as well as seven Story-Quiz books on Indian Mythology and two Ramayana Games. She has been writing articles every month for Tattvaloka and Nadabrabmam for more than a decade.
We are grateful to Tattvaloka for granting us permission to publish these valuable articles in a book form. We pray to the Almighty to bless all those who were involved in this task.
We hope that this book will be well received by devotees.
