Book Description
India is the land of spiritual culmination. She has been the door of salvation for spiritual seekers from time immemorial. This book is a collection of biographical accounts of great spiritual masters who hailed from different parts of our country but integrated the people by their holy thoughts and deeds. The book instills the values of our tradition richness of our heritage, pride of our country leading to national integration.
ET Sankaran Kutty, born in 1937 in Madras, descends from a well known family of Palghat, Kerala. He graduated from the University of Madras with a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, joined Indian Overseas Bank, Chaennai, as an Officer and retired as Assistant General Manager in 1997 after more than three decades of tireless service. To fulfil his spiritual quest and thirst, he started writing on Hinduism after his retirement.
Our country is the birth place of four out of eleven great religions of the world: 1. Sanatana Dharma or Vedic religion as is called by the natives and Hinduism by foreigners (date of origin not known) 2. Buddhism (6th Century A.D) 3. Jainism (6th Century B.C.) and 4. Sikhism (16th Century A.D).
During the period of past two millennia Bharat Matha or Mother India gave birth to many truly great spiritual souls. Their mission was to set right the ills of the society and to guide mankind towards God. They accomplished their mission not by sword or deceit but through compassion and goodness and disappeared leaving their legacy behind for the future generation.
In this book, I have furnished their profile and also a synopsis of their sayings in alphabetical order.
I dedicate this book to the younger generation of our country living in different parts of the world and hope they would be profited by reading, what every Indian should know about those great souls by reading, what every Indian should know about those great souls and take pride in being born as an Indian or to Indian parents abroad.
