Book Description
The Tao of Jaina Sciences opens a new erena by through provoking material for history as well as philosophy of science. It will lead to more academic discussions, serious investigations deeper problem and better exposition about jainology. History of mathematical science cannot fail to take note of these developments which must get place and publicity. This work fills the gap between the east and West as well as to show sufficient light in order to solve world problems regarding the sources, transmission of knowledge, and so on. It appears that history of Indian philosophy will have to record THE TAO OF JAINA SCIENCES as hall marks while the Jaina philosophy is thrashed out through this book into the complex of old and new philosophies on the globe. This is in fact a highly commendable work.
I have had the privilege of going through the Tao of Jaina Sciences, a collection of monographs en Jainology, by Professor L.C. Jain, retired Principal, Slate Collegiate Branch of the Govt. of Madhya Pradesha, in collaboration with Kuniari Prabba Jain, student of M. Phil., Department of San-skrit, Pali and Prakrit. Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur.
The authors have taken extreme care to prepare the collection for and easy reading as a popular work. At the same time it appears to fulfil the necessity of research scholars seeking for modern context in the ancient Indian works. Several illustrations. tables, diagrams as well as bibliographies. and terminologies have made the present work an excellent introductory historical text on the Jaina sciences.
The appearance of this collection is hailed by me in the world of learning and contemporary knowledge with adoration to the ancient authors who were ascetics and selfless.
