Book Description
I hope it would be a great help to the entire fraternity of Ayurveda, particularly to undergraduate, post graduate students and teaching faculty for a comprehensive Ayurveda study. This book will relieve the great mental strain of students to face the examination with confidence and achieve the desired goal. I am sure that Dr. C. R. Yadav will continue his work in future also.
I congratulate Dr. C. R. Yadav for his sincere efforts in bringing out this book, named 'A Text book of Practical Sharir Kriya Vijnanam(Ayurvedic Practical Physiology)'. I sincerely wish him all the best for his future creations.
I have tried my best to provide high quality material in a precise and comprehensive form. Every effort has been made to incorporate all the aspects of practical Physiology. Till now, students used to come to practical classes with a manual and a theory book. The manual helps them to learn the technique to perform the practical, and the theory book helps them to understand the practical. Often, the theory books do not cover all the theoretical aspects of the practical. Therefore, in this book, i have made sincere effort to provide the essential underlying principles of practical Physiology, to help the student perform various practical, and to learn and apply the knowledge of practical physiology in clinical medicine. This book is therefore meant to be a complete textbook of practical Shark Kriya (Physiology).
The Central council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) has recently suggested significant changes in the first BAMS curriculum. It has recommended increase in the number of human practical, detailed description of Instruments, more applied and clinical oriented teaching, to provide an objective oriented learning. In view of this, more than seventy percent of this book contains human practical, and experimental physiology has been described in a very compact form. Each practical in the book contain learning objectives, theoretical aspect of the practical, detail of clinical oriented discussion.
A book of this kind may be complete but not perfect. Indeed, I visualise the book as a project evolution that should be able to accommodate the constructive criticism and suggestions, and the fast changing concepts and needs of the science. I always welcome the reader's views and suggestions, to make future editions of the book as useful to the students as the current edition.
