About the Author
S. Bhupinder Singh Holland was bom in Amritsar, the city founded by Guru Ram Das Sahib. Here, he studied there at Khalsa College and obtained B.Sc and B.Ed degrees. In college he was the best soccar player. He is a proud alumni of this In prime of his youth, moved to Holland (Netherlands) where he worked for the international firm IBM for more than three decades.

In Holland, he was one of the few Sikhs who preserved his religion and made active contributed in religious, social, literary fields. He had relations with the Maharaja of Patiala, when the latter was Indian Ambassador in Holland. He was the chief of the International Sikh Youth Federation (Holland unit) as well as World Sikh Writers Conference (Holland branch). Now, he is well known in political and social circles. He is one of the most prominent Sikhs in the Europe. He has eamed awards for his contribution to the society, especially the Sikhs.

In 1993, he began research work on the Sikhs sacrifices during the two World Wars. He collected precious information and rare photographs most of which was hitherto not know to the world. These two works are a sort of mini archive of the Sikhs. These books eamed name and fame for him and he received special commendations from the scholars, statesmen and others. Both the works are historical, precious and priceless.

The present works the history of the Dutch Siths. The Sikhs are known to the natives of Netherlands since the time of the Sikh General Banda Singh Bahadur (1670-1716) and in 1970s they began adopting this as their abode too. Now they have 8 Gurdwaras and several organization in Holland. S Bhupinder Singh has done appreciable job to record this history. Like his earlier works, he has made this work too as museum and archive of the Sikhs of Holland. A Sikh home in Holland, without this treasure, will be considered as incomplete house.
